Merit Health announces that two of its outstanding employees, Holly Thomson and Mallory Vandevender, FNP-C, have been named among Rankin County's Top 40 Under 40. This prestigious recognition highlights the very best young professionals in the county, celebrating their roles as industry disruptors and innovators.
Holly Thomson, a senior clinical recruiter for Merit Health, has demonstrated remarkable dedication and innovation in her role. Despite the challenges of extensive travel and the demands on her work-life balance, Holly has thrived thanks to the supportive environment provided by Merit Health. "I am blessed to work for a company that provides resources and establishes policies that allow me to fully disconnect during non-working hours," Holly shares. Her achievements include significantly increasing new hires in the nursing profession by expanding Merit Health's nursing externship program and developing a new graduate residency for college graduates.
Mallory Vandevender, FNP-C, a nurse practitioner for Merit Health Medical Group in Flowood, has made significant contributions to her community by providing quality patient care. Mallory considers her greatest achievement to be completing nurse practitioner school, which she pursued with dedication and faith. "I prayed that God would open a door for me, allowing me to follow my dreams of practicing family medicine," Mallory reflects. Starting her dream job right away, she has been serving the community with passion.
Merit Health Jackson Market CEO, Sam Dean, commends both recipients: "Holly and Mallory represent the best of Merit Health. Their dedication, innovation, and compassionate care are truly inspiring, and we are incredibly proud to see them recognized as two of Rankin County's Top 40 Under 40."
