Kim Harrell Promoted to Merit Health Market Chief Quality Officer News Release

Kim Harrell, MHA, BSN, CNOR, R.N., has assumed the role of Merit Health market chief quality officer.
Harrell most recently served as the Chief Quality Officer at Merit Health Central, a position she held nearly four years. Utilizing over 18 years of leadership experience, she will provide oversight to the quality departments in the six Merit Health hospitals in Jackson and Vicksburg.
A Jackson, MS, native, Harrell completed her master’s in healthcare administration at Belhaven University.
Merit Health’s chief medical director Dr. Greg Oden said quality assurance has become a critical issue in all segments of hospital operations. He noted, “Today’s hospitals are challenged more than ever before to operate efficiently, manage highly-detailed information and provide patient-centered care in a safe environment. Kim brings to this expanded role the experience and training needed to direct enhancements that will lead to continued quality improvements for Merit Health hospitals and our patients.”
